Will The Real XP Succesor Please Stand Up!

Windows 7, tada!

Windows 7 was launched worldwide on the 22nd October 2009, and I got my hands on it! Prior to this, I've been using Vista Premium and it didn't lived up to my expectations. Vista's interface did looked fresh in comparison to XP but these upgrades are merely conveniences rather than essentials. Vista felt more evolutionary than revolutionary! Well, with the exception of the irritating security tools and lack of new apps, Vista did worked fine for me.

So coming to Windows 7, according to many, this was what Vista should had been. First look was impressive. Installation was pretty fast, took around 30 minutes with most of my drivers and basic apps like Firefox and Avira installed. When it comes to functionality, I particularly like the "search toolbar" when clicked on the Start menu button. You can actually find all sorts of files by typing the name of the particular file. Another nice thing to have is the windows can actually go transparent with a click. This is helpful especially when there are many windows opened. Oh yeah, the task bar looks neat too.

Search your PC with ease!

There are so much more to explore with Windows 7 and these functions are just the jeez of this great OS. For those faithful XP users out there, this might be a worthy sucecessor.

A timely reminder

Hello everyone!
My apologies for not being active in this spot of my cyber life. The real world has been taking most of my time off especially the work. Feeling like a rat caught in the middle of a race. Sometimes I wonder, why am I here? It's not that I don't enjoy my line of work, its the baggage which comes together with it. Especially in this tiring times where the global economy is volatile. Well, looking at the brighter side, which job doesn't comes up stress, pressure and politics? If you have a job offer which doesn't come with these baggages, let me be the first to know. In fact, I should be thankful that I'm still hired.
Anyway, this year I'm given a new area with 2 new products to sell. One is a fast moving antibiotic with a challenging target and the other is a brand new nasal spray. So with additional products, my area of coverage has reduced to a mere 8 centres. My biggest centre would be UMMC, plus the 4 Pantai hospitals, Assunta, Tun Hussein Onn Eye and Megah Specialist. So, I would be around PJ most of the time with occasional visits to Cheras and Klang to cover the Pantai hospitals there. Hint* hint* call me for lunch yea!
So with limited time on my side and work piling up, I've been missing lotsa things in life. Friends have been neglected, bible studies have been missed and time for myself often comes with work. A friend send me this msg to me today, which is a timely reminder for a time like this. This was what he had to say to me,
"We are first Christians, disguised as medical reps or accountants or whatever, not the other way around. So chill, do what is right. God will bless, but even if he doesn't, God is still the ultimate director of our lives. He knows best."
Anyway, time to be alone now, before I go to bed. Goodnight.

ROAD safety, ROAD names, ROAD signboards

Do you know that beginning January 1, 2009, all rear passengers must buckle up their rear seat belts as well? Well, many of us has been hearing about it lar but its official, next year, pakai ur seat belts when you're in the car, tak kisah depan or belakang! Well, I do not have a problem with, in fact I applaud this move.. in the name of ROAD safety lar. But the funny thing is, car got 3 rear seat belts, so 3 ppl must buckle up, no problem lar. If got 4th person, the person no need to wear, exempted.. WHAT??! I don't get this move, on the other hand, they ask us to wear, for our safety mah, but then got 4 ppl at the back, only got 3 seat belts, so how? Aiyah, 4th person no need lar.. WAHLIAOWEI! Although I do agree with this move, if got 3 ppl at the back lar, I believe that the rear seat belts are for adults (correct me if I'm wrong). Just imagine a 2 year old kid, so small at he back wear seat belts.. car got crash, I think the child will die faster lor. If wanna enforce rear seat belts, I believe that children safety seats should be enforced as well.
Oh yeah, do you realize that ROADS have been the popular issue so far. Besides ROAD safety, ROAD names also manage to pop up in the news. Still, remember the Jalan Alor fiasco. I know the news is kinda old but for the sake of this post, I shall bring it up again. So, after 2 years of planning, some smart elec decides to change the names around the Bukit Bintang area, to give the area a new image wor, that's wat they said. Well, 2 year?!! And you took that long to decide that Jalan Alor should be Jalan Kejora (Venus in BM). Just imagine that road maps have to be changed, tourist guides need to be modified, and I'm sure ppl will still remember it as Jalan Alor. Never seek the rakyat's view summore, simply go change. In my opinion, if wanna change image, should start by making sure the place is in tip top condition lar. Make sure the garbage are collected, the ppl don't simply double park at that road. Sure image will change one. Summore tourist attraction wor, can help boost the tourism industry which can help boost the economy lar. Economy now not so good mah.
And the issue in Penang, on ROAD signboards. A few days ago I read that some NGO decided to sue the state government for putting up multi-lingual signboards. Actually, the state government decided to add a few other languages like English, Tamil, Mandarin or Arabic on these signboards. The NGO decided to sue the state on the basis that the erected signboards is an act of "belittling the official status of Bahasa Malaysia". C'mon lar.. In my opinion, mana ader belittling. BM wasn't taken out mah. I mean since Georgetown is a heritage zone summore tourist spot. In fact, by having other languages, tourists from different countries may learn the meaning of the BM word written on these signboards. Also by having these signboards, can be helpful to tourists, can help boost the tourism industry, which can help boost the economy lar. Economy now not so good mah.
Aiyah.. everyday read the news whether in newspaper form on online form, sure got some funny issue pop up which without fail make me laugh and cry at the same time. Wonder whats on tomorrow morning??
